Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Fulham

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Fulham on New Year's Eve.

Arsenal will attempt to return to winning ways in their final Premier League match of 2023 when they travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on New Year's Eve.

The Gunners missed the chance to climb to the top of the table as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to London rivals West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

Mikel Arteta's men, who sit second and two points behind leaders Liverpool, have dropped points in three of their last four league fixtures, but they will hope to enter 2024 on a positive note by beating a Fulham outfit who have lost their last three top-flight games.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Marco Silva's side.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: January 7 (vs. Liverpool)

Takehiro Tomiyasu sustained a calf injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month and was subsequently ruled out for "weeks", but the Gunners are believed to be hopeful that the defender could return in time for their FA Cup third-round tie against Liverpool.

Jurrien Timber

Possible return date: Unknown

Jurrien Timber has not played for Arsenal since picking up an ACL injury on his debut back in August, and there is currently no timeframe on the defender's potential return.

Thomas Partey

Thomas Partey underwent thigh surgery at the end of October and will remain unavailable for Sunday's game, but there is hope that the midfielder could be fit to feature in some capacity against Liverpool in the FA Cup next week.

Fabio Vieira

Status: Out

Fabio Vieira has been sidelined since mid-November with a groin injury, which required surgery, and the midfielder is believed to be targeting a return at some stage towards the end of next month.

Arsenal have no suspended players for this match, with Kai Havertz available to return after serving a one-match ban on Thursday.
