Report: Jack Wilshere could require surgery

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere could require surgery to heal his leg fracture, according to reports.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere could require surgery to help heal his leg fracture, according to reports.

Wilshere is yet to play for the Gunners this season due to the injury and it was hoped that the 23-year-old would return after the international break.

He missed Saturday's 2-0 victory over Stoke City, and the Mirror claims that Wilshere will see a specialist if the injury has not healed further within the next fortnight.

If surgery is required, a metal plate could be inserted into Wilshere's leg, which would increase recovery time by six weeks.
