Report: Danny Welbeck faces five-month layoff, ruling him out of Euro 2016

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is reportedly expected to be out for five months with a knee injury, therefore ruling him out of Euro 2016.

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is reportedly expected to be on the treatment table for five months with a knee injury, therefore ruling him out of this summer's European Championships.

The 25-year-old limped off the pitch in the first half of Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.

There has been no official word from Arsenal, but according to Goal.com, early scans have indicated that Welbeck is likely to be on the sidelines for five months,

Should that be the case, the former Manchester United forward will not be part of England's campaign at Euro 2016 and he could also be unavailable for the start of Arsenal's pre-season schedule.

Since returning to action following a 10-month layoff, Welbeck has scored five goals and provided two assists.
