Arsene Wenger: Jack Wilshere injury "progressing quicker than expected"

Arsene Wenger believes that Jack Wilshere will be back in an Arsenal shirt by the end of February, with his injury "progressing quicker than expected".

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that midfielder Jack Wilshere is ahead of schedule in his comeback from injury.

The England international suffered serious ankle ligament damage in November last year, and was expected to miss around four months of action.

However, Wilshere could now be back playing in an Arsenal shirt by the end of next month as he steps up his recovery.

"Jack is progressing quicker than expected – he could be back by the end of February," the Daily Star quotes Wenger as saying.

Wilshere had made 22 appearances for club and country this season before picking up the injury.
