Arsenal 'to make £3m January bid for Winston Reid'

Arsenal are ready to take advantage of West Ham's uncertainty over Winston Reid and are preparing a £3m bid for the defender, according to reports.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will reportedly make a £3m bid for West Ham United defender Winston Reid during the January window.

The New Zealand international is out of contract at the end of the season and the Daily Star claims that Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is willing to cash in this month rather than let him go for nothing in the summer.

Reid is said to be closer to leaving Upton Park after Allardyce admitted that he cannot see a future for him at the club.

Wenger is believed to be keen on bolstering his defensive options this month and will apparently offer Reid a four-year deal worth £60,000 a week.

Arsenal play host to Stoke City on Sunday afternoon, looking to maintain their push for a Champions League qualification place.
