Arsenal eye Pep Guardiola as Arsene Wenger's replacement?

Arsenal will reportedly try to lure Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola to the Emirates should they opt to sack manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal have reportedly placed Pep Guardiola at the top of their wishlist should they decide to part ways with long-standing manager Arsene Wenger.

Questions over the Frenchman's future at the Emirates rumbled last season, but speculation was dispelled when Wenger signed a new contract in the summer.

However, the Gunners hierarchy are considering their options for the future, with Everton boss Roberto Martinez also believed to be on the shortlist.

According to the Daily Star, while a number of names have been considered, the North London outfit will try to lure Guardiola from Bayern Munich to the club should they decide to sack Wenger.

Guardiola, who spent four successful years coaching Barcelona, joined Bayern last year and won the Bundesliga title in his first season in charge of the club.

Wenger, who has been Arsenal coach for the last 18 years, has struggled for consistency with his side this season so far, having overseen just four victories in 11 Premier League matches.
