Damir Skomina stands by his refereeing decisions during Arsenal's Champions League clash against AC Milan.

Euro referee Damir Skomina has hit back at Arsene Wenger following a tunnel spat between the pair during last night's Champions League match against AC Milan at the Emirates.

The Gunners boss faces disciplinary action from UEFA for using foul language towards the official, after watching his team lose 4-3 on aggregate against the Italian giants.

Wenger took issue with the number of free kicks Milan were awarded during the game, but Skomina has stood by his decisions, The Sun reports.

"Wenger's complaints say a lot about him. We had to be careful not to make any mistakes with the result that someone might say his team was knocked out because of us," said the ref.

The case will go before UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body on March 29.
