Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud insists that he will start scoring goals for the Gunners if he continues to work hard.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has declared that he will keep working hard to turn chances into goals in the Premier League.

The French international missed a crucial late chance in the Gunners' 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday, but believes that he will come good if he continues to get in the right positions.

Giroud told the club's official website: "It was a good pass from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and I think that I needed to go round the keeper as he came out quickly.

If I chipped the ball, the defender could have saved it. So I think I made the right call.

"I scored in midweek [against Coventry] and it was really good for me to score. I will keep working hard to score goals."

The 26-year-old faces stiff competition from Gervinho to start Arsenal's next match, a midweek Champions League game at home to Olympiakos.
