Thierry Henry: 'Arsenal cannot emulate Liverpool's Premier League title struggles'

Thierry Henry feels that Arsenal cannot afford to become like Liverpool and go an extended period of time without lifting the Premier League title.

Thierry Henry is adamant that Arsenal cannot afford to emulate the failings of Liverpool in their quest to end their Premier League title drought.

The Gunners have failed to win the top flight since the 2003-04 campaign where they went the entire season undefeated, but Henry is optimistic that Arsene Wenger's current squad has the ability to win the crown in the near future to avoid the fate of the Merseysiders.

He told L'Equipe: "If I had said to you, in 1990, that Liverpool would not win the title for the next 25 years, you would have thought me very ill.

"I don't want the same thing to happen to Arsenal. It is now 11 years. This year, we are not so far away.

"Apart from the first leg against Monaco, they are going in the right direction but they without doubt dropped too many points at the start of the season. But I think this squad can win the title in the years to come."

Arsenal are currently third in the Premier League, seven points behind leaders Chelsea.
