Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta claims that the past 10 days have been the "best" in his football career.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes that the past week has been the "best" in his football career.

The Gunners finally got off the mark for the 2021-22 Premier League season with a 1-0 victory over Norwich City on Saturday, during which Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal of a scrappy affair.

Arteta's job has come under increasing scrutiny with his side struggling for results and performances, but the Spaniard believes that he will look back on the past fortnight as one of the most pivotal periods of his managerial career.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the game, Arteta said: "For me, it has been the best week or 10 days of my career in this industry. I am not saying they were the easiest, but I go to the game today with real emotion.

"You want to see the people you work with and how they react to difficult moments - the level of commitment they have, how much belief they have and what you are trying to explain to them.

"From the top of the club to everybody that works with us as a team, I cannot be any prouder of what we do."

The Gunners boss also singled out Aaron Ramsdale and Takehiro Tomiyasu for praise during their first Premier League starts for the club.
