England Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce says that he wants Arsenal pair Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to join the squad for the Euros this summer.

England Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce has revealed that he wants Arsenal duo Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to drop down from the senior squad.

The ex-Manchester City manager is keen to add the pair to his squad for the European Under-21 Championship in Israel this summer as opposed to the two joining up with senior manager Roy Hodgson for a friendly in Brazil.

"If Roy deems he wants those players with him in Brazil, then so be it," The Express quotes Pearce as saying. "I certainly wouldn't turn them down as they would make my team a lot stronger."

Reports have claimed that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is likely to be against Pearce's request.
