Harry Redknapp is confident that Spurs will maintain their top-four spot and qualify for the Champions League this season.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp is confident that his side will secure Champions League qualification this season.

Spurs have occupied a top-four spot for most of the campaign but a recent run of five winless games has seen their position come under threat from rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

Seven consecutive victories have seen the Gunners leapfrog their North London neighbours into third, but despite their recent form Redknapp believes that Spurs will finish in the qualifying spots for Europe's premier competition.

"We are looking for Champions League qualification. I think we will get a Champions League place, we have an FA Cup semi-final to come against Chelsea. These are great times for us," he said.

"I know just how disappointed people will be if we don't make the Champions League. I am not silly. I understand that because of the position we were in.

"But at the start of the year we would have been fifth or sixth favourites to make the Champions League in all honesty."

Redknapp recently said that he wants the club to invest more money in the transfer market, but still feels that Spurs have made great progress in recent years.

"Last season we got to the quarter finals of the Champions League," he said.

"We are getting better all the time. We have established ourselves now. We are right there every year now so there is no reason why Tottenham shouldn't be there every year for the next God knows how many years."

Spurs face Swansea City in Premier League action on Sunday.
