Tomas Rosicky: 'Consistency is key to strong finish'

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky thinks that experience will help his side find the consistency to secure a top-four finish.

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has insisted that his side will finish in the top four if they maintain a consistent run of form until the end of the season.

The Gunners trail Tottenham Hotspur in the final Champions League spot by four points ahead of this afternoon's clash with Reading.

Rosicky believes that the spirited display against Bayern Munich has given the whole squad a lift and has backed his side to pip their rivals to fourth place.

He told the club's official website: "The game in Munich could be the equivalent of last season's Tottenham game, the stepping stone or turning point. Three days later, at Swansea, we put in another very good performance.

"Now we need to pick up that momentum again. It's a very interesting period for us now, fighting for a place in the Champions League. That's what I expect to happen, that we will be there again.

"Of course it will be a tough task, but our advantage is that we had the same experience last year. We know it's very possible but we have to be consistent. Inconsistency has bothered us at times this season, but I believe we will produce a strong finish and we will make it."

The 32-year-old has also pleaded with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger for more playing time in the final nine games of the campaign.
