Arsene Wenger: Arsenal performance "frustrating" to watch

Arsene Wenger admits to feeling 'disappointed and frustrated' following Arsenal's late collapse against Liverpool, which saw them leave Anfield with a 2-2 draw.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that his side's 2-2 draw against Liverpool this evening was a "fair result" on the balance of the 90 minutes.

The Gunners battled back from behind at Anfield courtesy of goals in either half by French duo Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud, although Martin Skrtel's header in the seventh minute of added-on time rescued the hosts a share of the spoils.

Despite seeing his side pegged back in the dying embers of the contest against a Liverpool side reduced to 10 men, Wenger refused to criticise individual players.

"It was maybe a fair result, but we are disappointed to give a goal away with a free header from a corner," he told BBC Sport. "It was an intense game. We played a little bit with a handbrake in the first half and Liverpool played well.

"We lost the ball too quickly in the first half - when you are not used to something it was frustrating. In the long stoppage time you have to survive two three corners and free kicks.

"For their goal, we had plenty of defenders on the pitch. It's disappointing that we didn't even jump. You want everybody to be focused on the corner."

Today's draw sees Arsenal head into their festive fixtures four points adrift of West Ham United in fourth place.
