Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has paid tribute to Theo Walcott's improved finishing.
The England international netted a superb hat-trick during the Gunners' 7-3 win over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, having been criticised for his ability to score in the past.
However, Wenger has praised the 23-year-old and remains keen on extending his current deal with the club to beyond the summer.
"We enjoyed the goals from Theo. He knows he can score and he has become a much stronger finisher and a much better finisher, and you could see that against Newcastle," said Wenger.
"He scored a 'Thierry' goal, the first one. It was the same angle, the same finishing, the same quality, it was great to see.
"The pressure is the same, I've always wanted to sign him and extend his contract and hopefully we can do it very soon."
Walcott has netted 14 goals in all competitions so far this season.
