Sports Mole looks ahead to Arsenal's trip to Southampton on New Year's Day, where the Gunners will be hoping to continue their fine form in front of goal.

Arsenal will be hoping to do the double over Southampton when they travel to St Mary's on New Year's Day.

The Gunners, who have won their last four Premier League matches by an aggregate score of 15-5, hammered the Saints 6-1 at the Emirates Stadium in September.

Southampton currently sit 18th in the table, but a draw is likely to be enough to see them climb out of the relegation zone.

Arsenal may well name an unchanged starting XI following their 7-3 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday.

Likewise, Saints boss Nigel Adkins will be reluctant to ring the changes after his side produced an impressive display to draw 3-3 at Stoke City on their last outing.

Adam Lallana has been out for three weeks with a knee injury and the midfielder is not expected to return in time to face Arsene Wenger's men.

Recent form:

Southampton: DLWLDD

Arsenal: LWDWWW

Possible lineups:

Southampton: K Davis, Yoshida, Fonte, Hooiveld, Shaw, Puncheon, Schneiderlin, Cork, Do Prado, Rodriguez, Lambert

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Podolski, Walcott

Sports Mole says: 1-3
