Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger hopes that his team's 5-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur will help them regain their confidence.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised his players following their 5-2 victory over 10-man Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

The Gunners boss said that he hopes the derby win will help his side rediscover their confidence following a run of defeats to Norwich City, Schalke and Manchester United.

"There were some outstanding individual offensive performances. In the second half you could see that the confidence was not completely still there. I hope that this result will help us," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying.

"Because we are a team who likes to go forward, when the confidence drops, your game suffers straight away. It was important for us to get back into some positive results, to get back to our level.

"This team has something special - they want to do well and they have quality. We have to find stability in our expression and we need some more time to work on that, but there's something special in the team."

Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud, Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott were on target for Arsenal, while Emmanuel Adebayor and Gareth Bale netted for Spurs.
