Arsene Wenger to sign three-year extension?

Reports suggest that Arsene Wenger is about to sign a new three-year deal with Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger is expected to sign a new three-year deal with Arsenal now that qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League has been confirmed, reports suggest.

The Gunners hierarchy are said to have tabled the offer during the summer, but the Frenchman himself delayed talks until his team's progress in Europe had been secured.

According to The Mirror, Wenger will now put pen to paper on an extension after coming through a tough group containing Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Marseille.

It is also reported that more funds will be made available to him in January as the team sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League.

The 64-year-old arrived in North London from Nagoya Grampus Eight in 1996 and is the longest-serving manager in English top-flight football.
