Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has paid tribute to former Liverpool defender Daniel Agger following his retirement from football.
The 75-time Denmark international announced earlier today that he is hanging up his boots aged just 31 having seen out his career with boyhood club Brondby.
The bulk of Agger's professional career was spent at Anfield, though, and Wilshere described the centre-back as one of the toughest defenders he faced in the Premier League.
Shame to hear @DanielAgger has retired. One of the toughest defenders I have played against.Congratulations on a great career!
