Arsenal 'would consider Maurizio Sarri appointment'

Arsenal reportedly identify Maurizio Sarri as a potential alternative to Mikel Arteta, who has endured an indifferent start to the 2020-21 campaign.

Arsenal would reportedly move for Maurizio Sarri if they opted to part company with Mikel Arteta later in the season.

While Arteta is not under any immediate pressure, the Gunners sit in 14th spot in the Premier League table after five defeats in 10 matches.

Although the North London outfit are only five points adrift of the Champions League places, Arteta's style of play has been criticised by many of the club's supporters.

According to StadioSport, club officials have already identified Sarri as a possible replacement for the Spaniard.

Despite winning the Europa League with Chelsea and Serie A at Juventus, the Italian failed to win over fans at either of those clubs.

The Italian, who was sacked in both cases after just one season, is currently available after his exit from the latter in the summer.
