Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata as the Spaniard has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Arsenal are lining up a swoop for Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata, according to a report.

The Spain international has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer and was mooted to be part of a deal to bring Wayne Rooney to the club.

However, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has insisted that the 25-year-old is part of his plans for next season.

Despite this, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to move in with a bid should Mata and Chelsea decide to part company, reports the Daily Mail.

The midfielder scored 20 goals for the Blues in all competitions last season.
