Arsenal are reportedly planning to table an improved offer for Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White.
With David Luiz preparing to follow Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi out of the exit door this summer, Mikel Arteta is thought to be eyeing up a new centre-back, despite the impending return of William Saliba.
The Gunners are understood to have approached Brighton with a £40m offer for highly-rated defender White, only to see the Seagulls swiftly reject their advances.
Now, football.london reports that Arsenal are intending to come back with a £45m offer for White, but Brighton are still expected to hold out for a fee of £50m.
Furthermore, Real Madrid are supposedly keeping tabs on White's situation, with Los Blancos waving goodbye to Sergio Ramos and potentially losing Raphael Varane this summer as well.
White played the full 90 minutes in 32 Premier League games last term and replaced the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold in England's Euro 2020 squad.
