Real Madrid could supposedly rival Arsenal for the signature of Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White this summer.
The 23-year-old is believed to have caught the eye of Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, and Arsenal have reportedly had an opening bid of £40m turned down by Brighton.
White is supposedly keen to complete a transfer to the Emirates Stadium should the two clubs agree a fee, but Arsenal may face stiff competition in their bid to bolster their defence.
According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid - who recently waved goodbye to Sergio Ramos - are also considering a swoop for the £50m-rated White as part of their defensive reshuffle.
The future of Raphael Varane in the Spanish capital also remains shrouded in uncertainty, but Carlo Ancelotti will be working with David Alaba following his transfer from Bayern Munich.
White started 36 Premier League games for Brighton last season and was called up to England's Euro 2020 squad following Trent Alexander-Arnold's injury.
