Arsenal will reportedly complete a deal for Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira in the next week.

The Gunners have allegedly been in talks with the Sampdoria player - who featured for his country in Saturday's World Cup knockout defeat to Portugal - over the past few weeks.

According to The Mail on Sunday, Arsenal are in the latter stages of talks with Torreira, with the deal expected to be worth the £25m set in the 22-year-old's contract.

The newspaper says that the midfielder's switch will be completed at some point next week after the clubs progressed well through negotiations.

Torreira, who only made his international debut in March, has earned six caps for his country.
