Owen Coyle expects Arsenal bid for Gary Cahill in January

Bolton boss Owen Coyle says that he "wouldn't be surprised" if Arsenal bid for Gary Cahill in January.

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle believes that Arsenal will renew their interest in defender Gary Cahill with a bid in January.

The England international was pursued over the summer by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who had a reported £6m bid rejected by Wanderers.

While the 25-year-old has remained at the Reebok Stadium, Coyle believes that Arsenal will attempt to lure the defender to the Emirates in January.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they came back," Coyle said.

"Arsene has always said he is an admirer of Gary Cahill. But the clubs never agreed a fee."

Meanwhile, the two clubs go head to head in London this weekend for their Premier League fixture.
