Ex-Arsenal defender Lauren congratulates Petr Cech

Ex-Arsenal right-back Lauren intimates that the club have effectively signed Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech after congratulating him on a potential move to North London.

Former Arsenal defender Lauren has hinted that the Gunners have all but sealed the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Reports earlier this week had indicated that manager Arsene Wenger was 'quietly confident' of wrapping up an £11m deal for the 33-year-old.

Cech, who fell behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order last season, is said to be desperate for a switch to North London.

Although the move is yet to be confirmed, Lauren, who spent six years playing under Wenger at Arsenal, intimates that the deal is done.

He wrote on Twitter: "All the best to Cech. Long time without stability in that position and another great gooner move to get the Premier League."

The 38-year-old right-back was a prominent member of the 'Invincibles' side that won the Premier League via an unbeaten season in 2004.
