Manchester City ready Theo Walcott bid?

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini reportedly abandons his pursuit of Swansea City winger Scott Sinclair and prepares a £12m bid for Arsenal's Theo Walcott.

Manchester City are reportedly poised to make a bid for Arsenal winger Theo Walcott.

Following Adam Johnson's move to Sunderland last week, Citizens boss Roberto Mancini is keen to add another wide player to his squad before Friday's transfer deadline.

The Premier League champions were understood to be close to agreeing a deal to sign Scott Sinclair from Swansea City, but that move is now in doubt because the two clubs have not yet been able to agree a fee for the player.

According to The Sun, Mancini has given up on signing Sinclair and he is now preparing a £12m offer for Walcott.

Walcott, 23, has less than 12 months remaining on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium.
