Michael Laudrup refuses to rule out Scott Sinclair exit

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup accepts that there is still enough time left in the transfer window for Scott Sinclair to join Manchester City.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has claimed that Scott Sinclair could still join Manchester City despite the two clubs reportedly failing to agree a fee for the player.

The Welsh club are believed to have rejected a £6.2m bid for the winger but Laudrup admits that talks could resume with the Premier League champions in the coming days.

"Even if talks have broken down there is still time for everything to happen, I am not saying he will go, or he will stay," the Swans manager said. "The point where we are now could change completely.

"From a manager's point of view, Scott is an important player and he plays in a position where we don't have that many players and if he leaves we need another one.

"That's the balancing act and the closer we get to the deadline the more difficult and shaky it will be."

Swansea have continued their impressive start to the season by securing their progress into the third round of the League Cup with a 3-1 victory over Barnsley.
