Alvaro Morata rules out Arsenal switch

Real Madrid youngster Alvaro Morata rules out a winter switch to Arsenal, claiming that he is happy with the Blancos.

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has ruled out a move to Arsenal this month by insisting that he is happy with life at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium amid speculation that the youngster is unhappy with a bit-part role with the Blancos this season.

The Spaniard, who has started just one Liga fixture this season, was on target in the 5-0 victory over Real Betis today but, despite the lack of playing time afforded to him, Morata insists he is keen to remain in the Spanish capital.

He told reporters: "I'm very happy here, I belong here. I am delighted to be here even if I get few minutes."

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has just one fit striker at his disposal - Olivier Giroud - after Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott both suffered long-term injuries recently.
