Newcastle United are reportedly prepared to submit their first bid for Arsenal full-back Kieran Tierney.
The Magpies are looking to strengthen their squad this summer, with Eddie Howe's side preparing for a Champions League campaign.
Dan Burn was utilised at left-back for the majority of the 2022-23 campaign, but Howe is keen to bring in a left-sided defender with greater mobility.
Tierney has been identified as someone that can move up the pitch to support attacks while also being a capable defender.
The Scotland international, who joined Arsenal from Celtic in 2019, is widely expected to leave the Gunners during the summer transfer window.

Tierney lost his place in the side following the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko last summer, restricting the 26-year-old to just six Premier League starts during the 2022-23 season.
Injury issues have also hampered his Arsenal career, and he is set to seek a fresh start elsewhere despite having three years left to run on his contract.
According to Football Insider, Newcastle are now set to step up their pursuit and table their first offer for the Arsenal full-back.
The report claims that the Magpies will submit their bid at the end of the month, with Tierney's future expected to be decided in July.

The situation is expected to be monitored by Manchester City, who want to recruit a new left-back and have been linked with a move for Tierney.
A recent report claimed that Unai Emery, who signed Tierney during his time as Arsenal boss, wants to bring the Scotland defender to Aston Villa.
In his four years as an Arsenal player, he has made 123 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with five goals and 14 assists.
Tierney, who has 37 international caps to his name, is currently preparing for Scotland's upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Norway and Georgia.
