Arsenal outcast Pablo Mari is reportedly on the radar of former club Flamengo for a possible loan return in January.

Arsenal outcast Pablo Mari is reportedly considering a return to Flamengo in the January transfer window.

The Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta and will continue to struggle for game time when William Saliba returns in the summer.

Mari has only made three appearances for the Gunners all season and has not played a single minute of Premier League football since August, leading to frequent talk of an exit.

According to football.london, Mari's former club Flamengo would be interested in welcoming the 28-year-old back to the club on loan during the current transfer window.

The report adds that Arsenal can expect to save approximately £865k for the remainder of the season should Mari leave in January, with the centre-back under contract at the Emirates until 2024.

Mari has made 22 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions since initially arriving two years ago, scoring one goal in the Europa League against Rapid Vienna.
