PFA's Gordon Taylor: 'Luis Suarez's Liverpool exit is impossible'

PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor says that it would be "practically impossible" for Luis Suarez to leave Liverpool this summer.

Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor has claimed that it would be "practically impossible" for Luis Suarez to leave Liverpool before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Uruguay international has been open about his desire to leave Anfield for a Champions League club, with the striker stating that the Merseyside outfit has broken their promise to let him leave.

A dispute over contract details has left the situation sour at Anfield, which has prompted Liverpool owner John W Henry to publicly state that it would be "ludicrous" for the club to sell Suarez, who is a target for Premier League rivals Arsenal.

"With the transfer window expiring, the difficulties of not only selling him to a competitor but also replacing him makes it practically impossible," BBC Sport quotes Taylor as saying.

The Gunners have had two bids for Suarez - who has been forced to train alone at Melwood - rejected, one thought to be worth £40,000,001m.
