Real Madrid are unwilling to sanction a move for Gonzalo Higuain until a new manager has been appointed at the Bernabeu, according to Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta.

Real Madrid are said to be unwilling to sanction a move for Gonzalo Higuain until a new manager has been appointed at the Bernabeu.

The Argentinean striker, 25, has attracted interest from a number of European clubs in recent weeks, with Juventus and Arsenal believed to be leading the race for his signature.

However, Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta claims that Madrid chiefs have made it clear that Higuain is not currently available.

Marotta told Sky Sport Italia: "Higuain is a great player, but Real Madrid are looking to appoint their new coach and, therefore, they have not yet defined their market strategies.

"Consequently, Higuain is not on the market for the moment, but when a new coach is appointed, we will talk again with Real Madrid."

Higuain scored 16 goals in 28 La Liga appearances last season.
