Arsenal have seen a late bid for Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus rejected, according to reports.
The German international has been linked with a move away from Dortmund this summer, with the likes of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid rumoured to be interested.
However, it is Arsenal who have reportedly made the first move, lodging a bid believed to be around £35m for the 25-year-old.
It was thought that Shinji Kagawa's return to Dortmund could pave the way for a big-money exit for Reus, but the club have rejected the Gunners' offer.
Arsene Wenger has already spent more money in this transfer window than any other previously as Arsenal boss, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers joining the club.
Reus, meanwhile, has been with Dortmund since 2012, scoring 43 goals in 92 games for the club.
