Report: Borussia Dortmund join Diego Costa race

A report claims that Borussia Dortmund want to sign Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa.

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly joined the race for Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa.

The 25-year-old, who has scored 19 goals in 17 La Liga matches this season, is widely regarded as one of the best forwards in European football on current form.

Arsenal and Chelsea have both been linked with the Brazil-born striker, but, according to Bild, Dortmund have also registered their interest in the marksman.

Dortmund are widely expected to lose current first-choice centre-forward Robert Lewandowski on a free transfer at the end of the season, with Bayern Munich the Pole's most likely destination.

Costa, meanwhile, has a contract at the Vicente Calderon until 2018 and therefore Atletico are under no pressure to part with the former Braga attacker.
