Arsenal are reportedly yet to open talks with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain regarding a new contract, despite manager Arsene Wenger suggesting otherwise.
Last week, the Gunners boss revealed that negotiations had begun with representatives of the England international, who has 18 months left on his contract.
However, according to The Mirror, Oxlade-Chamberlain is yet to be approached about a new deal and has been left surprised by Wenger's comments.
The 23-year-old is believed to be frustrated at not having regular game time in the first team, particularly as he has contributed with six goals and six assists when played.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has made 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season, but he has completed a full 90 minutes on just one occasion.
The winger, who reportedly attracted interest from Manchester City last summer, joined Arsenal from Southampton in 2011.
