Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing a midfielder in January amid links to AC Milan star Tijjani Reijnders.
Reijnders, who is 26 year old, has been a stalwart in the engine room of the Italian giants so far during the 2024-25 term, playing nine Serie A matches and providing two goal contributions.
The most recent of those arrived during domestic action on Saturday afternoon, when AC Milan secured a one-goal success at top-flight minnows Monza courtesy of a first-half strike from Reijnders.
He has also stepped up on the continental stage for Paulo Fonseca's troops, bagging a brilliant brace in the Champions League win over Club Brugge on October 22.
Since making the permanent switch from AZ Alkmaar in July 2023, Reijnders has featured on 64 occasions across all competitions for AC Milan, scoring eight goals.

Tottenham to rival Liverpool for midfielder amid Reijnders links?
According to Football Insider, Tottenham are beginning to finalise their transfer strategy ahead of the upcoming mid-season trading point in January.
The report claims that the Lilywhites are targeting the acquisition of a new midfielder to bolster Ange Postecoglou's ranks during the second half of the season.
It is understood that Spurs have taken an interest in AC Milan enforcer Reijnders, who has featured on 19 occasions for Netherlands, including at Euro 2024 over the summer.
However, it is believed that a switch to North London for the Dutchman in the New Year is highly unlikely due to his importance to the Italian powerhouses.
As well as Tottenham, Arne Slot's Liverpool have also been linked to Reijnders as a potential alternative to Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi.

Tottenham's midfield experiment

Naturally a winger, Dejan Kulusevski has operated in the middle of the park for the Lilywhites alongside James Maddison and Yves Bissouma.
Spurs also have Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Sarr as options in the midfield, as well as project signings Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray.
