Brendan Rodgers: "I wouldn't swap Luis Suarez for anyone"

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists that he would not swap Luis Suarez for anyone and refuses to put a price on the striker.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he would not sway Luis Suarez for any other player, claiming that he is a priceless asset to the club.

The Uruguayan striker has been in impressive form this season and scored his 14th goal of the campaign in Liverpool's 4-1 win over West Ham United on Saturday.

Arsenal tried to sign Suarez in the summer and there have been rumours that Real Madrid will make a move for the forward, but Rodgers has refused to put a price on his star man.

"I don't think you can put a price on him and I wouldn't want to," Rodgers told reporters. "He has two-and-a-half years here left on his contract and if you look at his consistency and how he is playing, at this moment in time, he is up there with the best players in the world.

"Most teams in the world would want Luis Suarez. I wouldn't swap Suarez for anyone. I get the chance to work with him every day and what he gives is a relentless desire.

"When you have that, you don't want to let him go. It has been a real privilege to work with him. It hasn't always been smooth sailing. He is a very humble man. Beneath it all, he is a real good guy who is a true professional."

Liverpool sit in second place in the Premier League table.
