AC Milan midfielder Mark van Bommel has claimed that Arsenal striker Robin van Persie would be a "huge success" at the San Siro.

The 28-year-old, whose contract at the Emirates Stadium ends in 2013, has been linked with moves away from the Gunners.

"Van Persie is a great player," Van Bommel told Il Giorno. "He has a lot on quality on the pitch. He'd be a huge success here."

Van Persie joined Arsenal from Dutch side Feyenoord in 2004.
