Arsenal are reportedly willing to take a gamble and let Robin van Persie see out his contract in a bid to keep the striker.

Arsenal are reportedly willing to risk losing Robin van Persie by letting the prolific striker run out his contract.

The Dutchman's future at the Emirates is unclear due to his refusal to begin negotiations with the club, despite having just over a year left on his current deal.

With the likelihood of a Champions League exit and race to stay in the top four, the Gunners are believed to be determined to tie down the 28-year-old as a willingness to sell would cause outrage among the Arsenal fans.

The North London outfit will take a gamble and refuse to sell the striker, even if he decides not to sign a new contract at the Emirates, according to The Mirror.

Reports have claimed that the Gunners will offer an improved deal to Van Persie in the next few weeks.
