Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that the club will not be signing midfielder Julian Draxler from Schalke 04 in this window.
The Gunners are believed to have been trying to secure the 20-year-old's signature before tonight's 11pm deadline, but reports have claimed that Wenger is unwilling to meet the asking price of around £37m.
According to Arsenal's Twitter page, Wenger said: "The Draxler situation has been created by the newspapers, not by me. He will stay at Schalke."
However, the Frenchman has claimed in this morning's press conference that he will try to bring in one new face before the deadline.
