The agent of William Saliba is reportedly holding crunch talks with Arsenal technical director Edu over the defender's future.

Arsenal defender William Saliba is reportedly set to sit down and hold crunch talks with the club over his future.

The former Saint-Etienne man is yet to make a senior appearance for the club since his arrival, and he was shipped back out on loan to Ligue 1 with Nice in the second half of the 2020-21 season.

Saliba's impressive performances in his homeland led to suggestions that he would be given the chance to prove himself in pre-season, but Arsenal are instead thought to be eyeing a £50m deal for Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White.

With White's possible arrival pushing him further down the pecking order, football.london reports that Saliba's agent is currently in discussions with Arsenal technical director Edu over his future in North London.

Saliba will no longer link up with Arsenal in pre-season after being called up to France's squad for the Tokyo Olympics, and the player's entourage are said to be assessing what is best for the 20-year-old.

Saliba appeared in 20 top-flight matches for Nice last season and scored one goal for Les Aiglons.
