Zenit St Petersburg reveal Andrey Arshavin interest

Andrey Arshavin's former club Zenit St Petersburg admit that they are interested in resigning the Russian.

Russian club Zenit St Petersburg have confirmed their interest in resigning Arsenal attacker Andrey Arshavin.

The 30-year-old, who has started just six matches this season, is said to be tempted by a return to his homeland.

Zenit director Igor Korneyev admitted that his club were monitoring Arshavin's availability, but stopped short of revealing whether or not a bid had been submitted.

"We are always interested in Arshavin," Korneyev told Sovietsky Sport. "But I can neither confirm nor deny whether we have made an offer."

Arshavin joined the Gunners in 2008 from Zenit.
