Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan has insisted that the club is showing signs of progress, despite their disappointing start to the season.
The Villans suffered their sixth defeat of the campaign last Saturday as they gave away a two-goal lead before being beaten 3-2 by Manchester United.
"I thought the performance against Manchester United was a good indicator of where we're heading," Guzan told reporters.
"I think it's a sign of good things to come. It will take time but we're on the right road definitely.
"Everyone watching could see what we're all about – desire, determination and a real attacking philosophy."
Villa take on Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.
