Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has told Brett Holman that he is still part of his plans.
The Australian spoke out recently regarding his frustrations at a lack of appearances in the Villa starting lineup.
However, Lambert has now revealed that he has held talks with the 29-year-old, who made his last start with the club back in January.
"I had a good chat with him, he is an experienced player and has done really fine since he's been here," he told the Express & Star.
"You don't want people to be happy when they are not in the side. You want them to be unhappy.
"He couldn't get in because Charles N'Zogbia was playing extremely well. He wasn't fit for last week. He is fit now. He has trained so he is back in the fray."
Holman joined Villa last summer on a free transfer from AZ Alkmaar.
