Lucas Hernandez signs new Atletico Madrid deal

Teenage French centre-back Lucas Hernandez signs a new four-year contract with Atletico Madrid.

Highly-rated centre-back Lucas Hernandez has penned a new long-term contract at Atletico Madrid.

The 19-year-old, who has been at Atletico since 2007, made his first-team debut for the Spanish outfit in December 2014 and also represented the club in La Liga last term.

Having been promoted to the senior squad, the French-born defender has signed a new contract at the Vicente Calderon, which will run until the summer of 2019.

"The club and Lucas Hernandez have reached an agreement for the renewal of the French player for two more seasons, with the contract of the player extended until 2019," read an official statement.
