Luciano Vietto makes loan switch to Sevilla

Sevilla secure the loan signing of Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto after Kevin Gameiro moved in the opposite direction.

Atletico Madrid have allowed striker Luciano Vietto to sign a season-long loan deal with Sevilla.

Earlier on Saturday, it was announced that last year's Champions League runners-up had completed the €32m (£27m) signing of Sevilla forward Kevin Gameiro and that transfer has resulted in Vietto moving in the opposite direction.

Like Gameiro, Vietto had previously been linked with a switch to Barcelona but with first-team opportunities potentially limited at Camp Nou, the 22-year-old has decided to spend the 2016-17 campaign at Sevilla.

Vietto struggled for opportunities during his first year at the Vicente Calderon, scoring just one goal in 12 starts and eight substitute appearances in La Liga.

If his temporary move to Sevilla proves to be a success, they have the option of pushing through a permanent deal.
