Barcelona and Bayern Munich have played out a goalless first half in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final at the Camp Nou.

The German club are going through as it stands thanks to their 4-0 win in last week's first leg.

The hosts started strongly but it was Bayern who nearly opened the scoring on 11 minutes through Arjen Robben. However, the winger saw his chance saved by Victor Valdes after being put through on goal.

Despite plenty of pressing from Barca, it was the visitors who looked the most threatening during the half thanks to some penetrative counter-attacks.

The visitors were appealing for a penalty midway through the half as Philipp Lahm collided with Gerard Pique, but the referee waved away the German protests.

Manuel Neuer was called into action on 27 minutes when he got down low to keep out Pedro's tame effort, while Andres Iniesta had a shot snuffed out by Lahm soon after.

The home side continued to struggle in attack and failed to really trouble their opponents before the half-time whistle.
