Luis Enrique wary of "flattery"

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique claims that "flattery can weaken you" as he calls for his team to focus following Saturday's 4-0 win over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has called for concentration from his team during a period of "flattery" for the Catalan giants.

Enrique's side have drawn widespread praise for their performance in El Clasico at the weekend, with goals from Neymar and Andres Iniesta and a Luis Suarez brace seeing the Catalans win 4-0 against Real Madrid.

While Enrique has welcomed the praise to a certain extent, the Spaniard has claimed that too much "flattery" can be detrimental.

"I think the flattery can weaken you. We're immersed in a phase of flattery, but I'm sure that the season will prove to be very difficult. The team are smart enough to know how difficult everything is," Enrique told reporters.

Barcelona return to Champions League action with a Group E match at home to Roma on Tuesday evening.
