Barcelona's Dani Alves out for a month

An ankle injury will sideline Barcelona's Brazilian full-back Dani Alves for the next four weeks.

Barcelona will have to make do without the services of Dani Alves for the next month.

The full-back lasted just 19 minutes of yesterday's 1-0 victory away at Athletic Bilbao before he was forced to limp off with what appeared to be a groin injury.

A subsequent scan has revealed a muscle strain, which according to the club's official website will keep Alves sidelined until late September.

However, the statement also confirmed that midfielder Sergio Busquets, who was stretchered off during the second half at the San Mames, has not suffered a serious ankle problem.

Next up for the Catalans is a home encounter against Malaga on Sunday evening.
